Cantaloupe, Banana + Chia Seeds Baby Food Puree

The tot and I needed something fresh to eat. Something that would tempt our tastebuds with a hint of spring. Something that would make us shake off the winter gloom and give us a happy warm embrace.

Not even joking, this recipe will do all of that.

It is fresh and light and filled with so much happiness, it is hard to put down your spoon. One bit for me one bit for the little one, repeat and smile.

Spread of produce - bananas, cantaloupe and chia seeds on a white background.

Cantaloupe is a fruit that I usually don’t purchase at the store, and I need to change that habit right now. In this in-between season of produce, cantaloupe is often readably available and a nice treat to the over abundance of oranges, pears and apples that we have been consuming on a daily bases, and they are chalk full of Vitamin A and C, Beta-Carotene and Calcium which will lead to healthy vision and eye development.

This is an easy puree that can be whipped together in under 5 minutes with a little banana to balance out the sometimes watery cantaloupe, greek yogurt for some extra probiotics and a little chia seed crunch. This puree will be in heavy rotation for the next month in our house as we need all warm hugs we can get in this cold weather.
