This easy-to-make Glitter Ice Pack for Toddlers + Kids are a fun way to soothe small owies, bumps and bruises from active kiddos. Made with 3 ingredients, that you most likely have on hand, this glittery ice pack will put a smile on any sad face.

I’m taking a quick break from food this week, because this glitter ice pack is blowing my girl’s minds right now!

They don’t even pretend anymore to be hurt when they reach into the freezer and pull out this amazingly glittery ice pack, they just love seeing and playing with it on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis.

My father-in-law was out visiting us a couple of months ago and told me this easy ratio of water and rubbing alcohol he was using as an ice pack for an injury he was healing from.

My girls are very active, and often klutzes, so they are always needing an ice pack to help ease the pain of minor bumps they get from playing. I find that we also use ice packs to help ease emotional owies as well. So when my father-in-law told me about this easy and practically FREE ice pack recipe, I jumped at making a couple packs for my girls.

But then I had to go and add glitter to the recipe ✨

Glitter – the magical ingredient to make any kid art or craft project a total winner
Glitter – the magical ingredient that makes slime even more fun, if that is even possible
Glitter – the magical ingredient that once is in your house, will never leave
Glitter – the magical ingredient that will turn any sad face into a happy face in the matter of seconds

Glitter can sometimes be so painful to work with (why doesn’t it ever come off of anything??), but in this case, I am 100% sold on using it. Glitter is what takes these ice packs from boring to pretty much the happiest things on the planet.

Besides being amazing to look at, I love these ice packs because

  • they are reusable
  • they are pliable and can easily bend to your kids leg, arm, tummy, etc
  • they are not clumpy like ice cubes, they lay flat on the body
  • are cold but not too cold where they burn the skin
  • they have glitter and make even the saddest face happy again

And pro-tip, these ice packs are a great thing to pop into a cooler to both keep your food cool and also to use in case your kiddo gets a bump on your next outing.

I promise you these Glitter Ice Packs are going to blow your kid’s minds as well!

Glitter Ice Pack for Toddlers + Kids

1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
1 1/2 cups water
1-2 tablespoons glitter (any color or shape will work)
1 quart size ziplock baggie

Instructions
1. Place all of the ingredient into the ziplock bag, shake until everything is mixed. Place flat in freezer for at least 3 hours or until frozen.
2. You can reuse the ice pack over and over again. I find they work best if they are laying flat when freezing.

Different Size Packs – you can use any size of ziplock bag you want, just follow a 1 part rubbing alcohol to 3 parts water ratio and you will be good.
